based on a true storypresents a complex of works by Sonja Feldmeier that is widely stratified in terms of content and media. A spectacular tree felling in northern India challenged the artist to both documentation and inventive cognition.

The video work The Peepul Treeexplores the sacrilege of a sacred natural monument; stills from the video accompany the artist's logbook created on site.
A large-scale, opulent series of images explores the ‹introspective views› of the protagonists. The Peepul's idiosyncratic pictorial inventions are based on the artist's synesthetic perception, which also finds an acoustic echo: By means of QR codes, sound compositions developed especially for The Peepul Treecan be retrieved.
